This trail starts at the Black River Gorges Viewpoint in Plaine Champagne. It is relatively short hike on a well maintained and easy to follow trail. There is only one sign though, and that is along the road. It is a pleasant walk through the woods and crosses the small stream that feeds the waterfall that is visible from the viewpoint. Private transport is the best way to visit Plaine Champagne, though it can be reached via the Parakeet Trail starting from the Riviere Noir entrance to the park.

The trail begins at the northern end of the viewpoint and proceeds through the forest, across the stream that feeds the waterfall. It emerges from the forest at a dirt road/wide trail. Proceed to the right and follow this to the main road. You can return along the same path or walk along the road to get back to the viewpoint.
